Antico Molino - Piccionaia

Antico Molino Like from a fairytale, the old mill, built of stone, lies romantically on the banks of the Zancona, surrounded by a wonderful, untouched nature. Recently carefully renovated, it has been divided into two flats.

On the opposite side of the property a wonderful new stone house was built in 2007, containing 2 spacious and very well appointed apartments. A dividing door between the two can be left unlocked for larger groups.

The surrounding garden is separated from the main house, and each property has its own entrance and separate furnished garden area, and the gardens are fenced in to ensure privacy.
A small gate leads directly to the river. In summer months the level of the river can be low but still enough for cooling a bottle of wine, for enjoying al fresco under the old trees, rocks of the river bed during the hot summer days. Both the houses have satellite TV, and a poratable barbecue. Behind the house is a pool and, for the more energetic a table tennis table.

Piccionaia - so called from its former use as pigeon coop. Today it has been transformed into a lovely holiday home with a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a nice kitchen (with dishwasher) and a cosy livingroom/diningroom, with fireplace and a small niche with double sofa-bed. In a small room near the main door there is the washing machine. Before the entrance is a furnished, paved terrace, perfect for breakfast, relaxation and reverie.

Monticello Amiata A lovely hill-top town with views over the hills to Monte Amiata, and along the Montecucco wine region to the west. There is a bar/restaurant, various shops, a bank and chemist.

La Amiata The area around Mount Amiata is an area for all seasons. Footpaths cross the area up to a height of 1730m. There are wonderful picnic areas, and streams, and lakes and hot springs for bathing. Pony-trekking, peaceful chestnut woods, medieval areas such as Montegiovi, Montelaterone, Monticello, Santa Fiora, Arcidosso and Castel del Piano.
