This beautiful stone house is on a 3 hectare piece of land, partly grown with sweet chestnuts, near the village of Le Macchie. It has a pool (6m x 4m).
A covered terrace runs the whole length of the front of the house. On the ground floor is a large kitchen, a livingroom with hearth, a small bathroom with shower and a windowless bedroom. The kitchen and living room have access to the terrace, and a great view over Mount Amiata and the villages of Le Macchie and Zancona. A staircase leads upstairs from the living room to two large bedrooms and a shower room. All rooms have tiled floors and beamed ceilings.
On the back of the house is another large sun terrace facing the chestnut woods. A washingmachine is also available.
Le Macchie one of four small villages around Amiata, which are so tiny, that they are more accurately described as Hamlets. A true paradise for hikers and naturelovers. There are good walks in the surrounding area or more strenous hikes, like the one to Monte Labro. Close by is the Parco Faunistico, a protected area with native animals. If you're really looking for peace and quiet, unwinding away from the rat-race, this is just what the doctor ordered. Nearby is a simple bar and a good restaurant alla casalinga. In Arcidosso, approx 5km away, there is a range of shops.
La Amiata The area around Mount Amiata is an area for all seasons. Footpaths cross the area up to a height of 1730m. There are wonderful picnic areas, and streams, and lakes and hot springs for bathing. Pony-trekking, peaceful chestnut woods, medieval areas such as Montegiovi, Montelaterone, Monticello, Santa Fiora, Arcidosso and Castel del Piano.
